Alona Tal, an Israeli American performer and actress, was born on the 20th of October 1983 in Herzliya. After serving in the Israeli Defense Forces, she started her career. Her acting debut was in an Israeli film in 2003. At the time she also starred in two television series in Israel. She she also tried her hand at music making several tracks in collaboration with Israeli rapper Subliminal. Tal relocated with her sister in New York to take a vacation from her professional life. In the track "Party to Damascus" she performed an arrangement with Wyclef Jean from Haiti. American television also saw her establish herself, starting with a regular role on the series Veronica Mars. She initially attempted to audition for the role of the lead however, the show's creator Rob Thomas created a new character for her. Tal eventually earned an appointment as a regular character on the CBS series. Participated in two TV shows in Israel before shifting to New York. Recorded a song with the singer Wyclef Jean. Hebrew is her first language. Second choice for the character of Veronica in Veronica Mars (2004).Originally auditioned for Veronica Mars (2004) and was Rob Thomas' second choice for the role of the title. Thomas loved her so much that he created the role of Meg Manning for her. She was a member of the Israel Defense Forces. Both her parents are Jewish The father of her is a Turkish/Jewish man, and her mother Polish/Jewish. She portrays Adrian Monk's wife who was murdered in the finale episode of Monk (2002).
