Rosamund Pike

Born in London in 1979, Rosamund Elizabeth Pike is an actor. She is the sole child of a classically trained violinist mother Caroline (Friend) as well as an opera singer father Julian Pike. Due to her parents' jobs, she spent her childhood touring around Europe. Pike attended Bristol's Badminton School and started acting at the National Youth Theatre. Pike first appeared in the National Youth Theatre production "Romeo and Juliet". She was then signed by an agent following being discovered. Pike also began acting at the National Youth Theatre. The film that she made her debut was a huge-budget action thriller. But her subsequent film work was primarily in independent films such as Promised Land (2004) and The Libertine (2004). She was also awarded the Best Supporting Actress award in The British Independent Film Awards. Pride & Prejudice (2005) featured Pike as one of the Bennet girls. After a brief stint in Hollywood, Doom (2005) and Fracture (2006) was her next film. She returned to film with outstanding performances in three lesser films. She also appeared in Johnny English Reborn (2011) and the sci-fi drama Wrath of the Titans (2012). Pike returned to action movies as the female lead alongside Tom Cruise in Jack Reacher (2012).
