Padma Parvati Lakshmi was born on September 1, 1970, in Chennai, India. Lakshmi was divorced by her parents at the age of two years old. Her mother emigrated to the United States to escape the stigma of divorce in India. Lakshmi resided in Chennai with her maternal grandparents for two years, before moving to the United States. The couple divorced and Lakshmi has two younger siblings. Lakshmi is a descendant of the Hindu goddess Wealth and Prosperity She grew up in New York City and Los Angeles. She went to India each year for a few months to see her family. Padma Lakshmi first became interested in acting around the time of 29 in 1999. She was in "Figlio di Sandokan", an Italian Pirate movie. Next she was given the role of "Caraibi" (Pirates Blood Brothers) that is a period drama about 17th century pirates. In 2001, she portrayed an amusing supporting role in the American movie 'Glitter,' as a disco singer. Padma has a daughter, Krishna Thea Lakshmi Dell, who is married to Adam Dell, a venture capitalist. Krishna was born February 20th in 2010. Teddy Forstmann was her ex-chairman. He is now the CEO of IMG. Lakshmi is currently in a relationship with American venture capitalist Adam Dell, has a daughter who is named Krishna. Lakshmi disclosed that her daughter's father is Dell. "Everything is better with her around," she said of her daughter. "Anything that occurs between the beginning of the day to the close of the day. I'm not sure I have an interest in anything other apart from her.
